The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Organisation was founded in 1957 by renowned authority on Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga, Swami Vishnudevananda. He was guided by the great yoga master Swami Sivananda to bring the ancient teachings of yoga to the West. The Sivananda Yoga Organisation has trained thousands of yoga teachers and offers worldwide yoga teachers training courses in the Sivananda tradition as well as advanced teacher trainings, teacher retreats, yoga holidays, yoga classes, meditation training, positive thinking, tremendous karma yoga opportunities, special programmes, yoga philosophy courses, satsangs, kirtans and so much more... They are truly one of the great homes of authentic classical yoga in the West.
The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre has been teaching yoga in London since 1972 and the present Centre has been in Felsham Road Putney SW15 since 1991. The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre is a non-profit organisation run by voluntary staff and is dedicated entirely to sharing the knowledge of yoga. There are also worldwide ashrams and centres.
